Gov't Program Funding for WL Projects

Do you want government funding for your woodlot licence Schedule B lands in 2023/24? Non-obligatory activities on Schedule B lands are eligible as per the Silviculture Funding Criteria, in two broad categories:

·        Current reforestation - aims to reforest areas not being addressed by harvesting/licensee obligation; key opportunities: fire-killed stands, beetle-killed stands, any other damage that isn’t economical to harvest and incur silviculture; can cover surveys, prescriptions, site prep/knock down, sowing, planting

·        Timber supply mitigation – fertilization, spacing

Process

    • Woodlot licence number, Forest district, Timber Supply area

    • Description of your project – area, what you’re proposing to do, site history

    • Map – kmz or shape file ideally, or a pdf/jpg image

    • Proposed costs

  • I will collate all woodlot license requests for funding and submit to the MOF by Nov 30, 2022

  • MOF deliberates and makes a funding decision in March 2023

Thank you!
